- To go back, choose Show original in the same places, or reload the page.
- Names like iOS or YouTube stay as they are.

Common questions
I installed it from a file before. What should I do?
Remove the old copy: type chrome://extensions in the address bar, find mTranslate and press Remove. Then install it from the Chrome Web Store. From then on Chrome keeps it up to date, and you can turn off Developer mode.
Chrome says it's downloading a language. Why?
Chrome translates on your computer, so it needs each language once. After that it's quick and works without internet.
Some words in a translated page are wrong. Why?
Short labels, like menu items, are translated on their own, without the sentence around them, so a word can get the wrong meaning. Whole sentences come out much better. Choose Show original to see the page as it was.
I don't see mTranslate in the right-click menu.
Reload the page. Pages that were open before mTranslate was installed or updated need a reload.
Does it work without internet?
Yes, once your languages are downloaded. Open the extension's Settings and look under Use without internet. You can download other languages there too.
The voice sounds robotic. Can I make it better?
Yes. On a Mac: System Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → System Voice → Manage Voices. On Windows: Settings → Time & language → Speech → Add voices. mTranslate uses the voices on your computer.
Do I need the mTranslate Mac app?
No. mTranslate for Chrome works on its own. The mTranslate Mac app is a separate app for translating in any Mac app, like Mail or Word.
Does mTranslate for Chrome collect my data?
No. Your text isn't sent anywhere. See the Privacy Policy.
